The National Energy Regulatory Commission has increased the projected wholesale price of electricity for July 2008 by 4.2 percent over June’s level, to a total of 346 hryvnias per MWh (VAT not included). The relevant resolution # 696 was adopted on June 18, according to the Commission.
UNIAN reference: The expected wholesale price for electricity has increased by 28.09 percent this year, from 270.12 hryvnias in January to 346 hryvnias per MWh in July.
Over the last year, the price increased by 20.9 percent, to 264.82 hryvnias per MWh in December 2007. In 2006, the price grew16.05 percent, reaching 219 hryvnias per MWh in December 2006.
The expected wholesale market price is calculated on the basis of the projected power generation structure and the expected amount of subsidies. Power suppliers consider this price when setting retail tariffs.
